DS SMITH PLC NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS APPOINTMENT

Further to the announcement made on 1 February 2013, DS Smith Plc confirms that Chris Britton has today joined the Board as a non-Executive Director.

As required by the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that there are no changes to the details disclosed on 1 February 2013 pursuant to LR 9.6.13 R (1) to (6) and Chris Britton does not hold any shares in the Company.
