bmp media investors AG: Edipresse acquires bmp's stake in Pomocni
Berlin, 29 July 2011
bmp media investors AG (ISIN DE0003304200) sold its 17.24% stake in Pomocni sp. z o.o., Warsaw, in the course of a majority takeover by Edipresse Polska S.A. Edipresse has acquired Pomocni as part of its internet strategy of expanding its Internet platform Edi:Net, which is aimed at women and families.
Alongside Point Nine Capital/Team Europe (Berlin) and several Polish business angels, bmp has held a relatively small stake in Pomocni sp. z.o.o. since Pomocni's founding in 2008, and has actively facilitated the successful development of the company. This transaction has bestowed bmp with an above-average IRR of approx. 134% and has allowed the company to multiply its original investment nine-fold.
Today, Pomocni is the leading online platform in the field of childcare in Poland. It also acts as a broker for the provision of numerous additional household-related services. Pomocni has exhibited highly dynamic development since 2008 with regard to user numbers and sales revenue. The company enjoys excellent market visibility and customer satisfaction.
'We wish Pomocni all the best in its new environment as a part of the second-largest Polish magazine publisher, as this will provide it with excellent further development opportunities. We also thank the founders Michal Skrzynski, Marcin Popielarz and Marcin Kurek as well as Point Nine Capital for their productive teamwork,' commented Jens Spyrka, Executive Board Member of bmp media investors AG.
