BOARD CHANGES

Sandfire Resources NL is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Brian Coppin as a Non-Executive Director of the Company, effective 19 December 2006. Mr Coppin is best known for his past and current involvement with various WA and National business enterprises.

The Company has also accepted the resignation of Mr Peter Thomas, effective 19 December 2006. Mr Thomas was one of the three founding Directors of the Company. The Board thanks Mr Thomas for his contribution during the past three years.

Mr Coppin will serve in the capacity as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board.
