Medical Monitors completes purchase of Brisbane-based health and lifestyle village

Sydney, Australia: 28 August 2006: Medical Monitors (ASX: MDM) has now completed the acquisition of its first health and lifestyle village, Brisbane River Terraces (BRT), with all 99 properties sold and providing an ongoing secured initial $525K net income for the company increasing with CPI annually.

BRT is an over 50's environmentally friendly health and lifestyle village that provides home-owners with all the facilities for resort style living, including leisure center, salt water pool, security and boat access to the local Brisbane River

BRT is the first in a series of health and lifestyle villages to be acquired by Medical Monitors from Resort Lifestyle Villages, a subsidiary of Parkway Developments Australia (PDA), Ashmond Villas, with its 57 home owners, is the second village planned for acquisition from PDA and is situated near Noosa. on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. Through an exclusive first right of refusal option, a series of similar villages, at different development stages, have been offered by PDA to MDM for future acquisition. PDA has an option to retain up to 30% convertible equity in all acquisitions.

"This is a significant turning point for the company, as we lay down the foundations for repositioning into the health and lifestyle property market targeting the growing baby boomer population," said Dr Allan Shell, Managing Director of Medical Monitors.

"With the option to purchase a solid pipeline of over 50's health and lifestyle villages across Australia from PDA, we are confident that our new business strategy will provide major benefits by way of secure increasing income streams and future opportunities for our shareholders," he said.

Medical Monitors' new business strategy proposes to generate secure revenue from purchasing a series of over 50's health and lifestyle properties, and from its investment in the global distribution of its medical monitoring technologies.

Primedical International Holdings, which is being listed on the OTC Bulletin Board of NASDAQ, distributes MDM's monitoring technology to the UK, USA and European markets. MDM will maintain approximately a 30% equity stake in Primedical International Holdings.

Dr Shell explained that the company intends to develop a second generation of medical monitoring technologies, that are suitable for the over 50's population living in the Australian health and lifestyle villages. "One in three people in the over 50's market have cardiovascular conditions that make them ideal customers of the medical monitoring packages", he said.
