ABM Resources NL to Appoint Dr Mike Etheridge as a Non-Executive Chairman

ABM Resources NL announces the proposed appointment of Dr Mike Etheridge as a Director, further strengthening its technical team and corporate governance experience, following the recent involvement of leading international geologist Dr Nick Archibald. Dr Etheridge will be appointed as the Non-Executive Chairman, to assist with ABM’s emergence as a new, well-funded and innovative explorer, focused on the Tanami-Arunta province of Australia.

From the date of the General Meeting, to be announced in the coming weeks, Dr Etheridge will assume the role of Non-Executive Chairman of ABM Resources NL, subject to all relevant shareholder approvals of the Ochre and Tanami agreements. He will be replacing Mr Imants Kins, who has contributed strongly to the company over the past four years and who will remain on the board as a Director.

Dr Etheridge is one of Australia's foremost experts in minerals geology and exploration strategy, with over 35 years' experience in exploration, mining, consulting and research. He is presently a director of Lihir Gold Limited, a major global gold producer with operations in Papua New Guinea, West Africa and Australia. Lihir produced over 800,000 Oz from its global operations for the year 2008.

Until 2004, Dr Etheridge was Chairman of SRK Consulting (Australasia), having co-founded its predecessor Etheridge Henley Williams in 1990. Prior to his current position with Lihir Gold Ltd, he held positions as Non Executive Director of Consolidated Minerals Ltd, TSX-V listed Geoinformatics Exploration Inc and AIM-listed Ariana Resources Ltd.

The Executive Chairman of ABM Resources NL, Mr Imants Kins, said “Dr Etheridge’s track record and experience in identifying and evaluating worldclass mineral deposits will be invaluable in helping the company achieve its goal of evolving into a natural resources company of global importance.”
