ANNOUNCEMENT - PERPETUAL INVESTMENTS FUNDS UNDER MANAGEMENT

Perpetual Investments advises that its funds under management as at 28 February 2003 were \$16.4 billion. This compares with \$17.5 billion at 31 January 2003.

As foreshadowed in our half year report to shareholders, funds under management were affected in February by declining asset values due to weaker international and Australian share markets, and by the previously reported withdrawal of an institutional mandate of approximately \$500 million.
