The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– OHB Teledata AG acquiring a share in the Orbcomm satellite network Revenues and earnings beating forecasts in 2001 Bremen, February 20, 2002 OHB Teledata AG has acquired a good 10 % of the global satellite network operator Orbcomm LLC Washington, United States. Orbcomm LLC operates 30 so- called LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellites for global mobile data communications. Last year the company was stripped of its debt and restructured. In addition, OHB Teledata has acquired a 50 % stake in Orbcomm Europe LLC, allowing it to operate and market satellite services exclusively in Europe. The European ground stations are operated by a subsidiary of Telecom Italia SpA, Rome as before. Marketing operations and administration are based in Bremen. At the moment, Orbcomm Europe serves a good 4,500 customer terminals in Europe (including Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania and the Czech Republic). The global Orbcomm satellite communications network is to be used to step up the internationalization of telematics products. OHB Teledata’s total investment in Orbcomm LLC and Orbcomm Europe LLC stands at USD 700,000. OHB Teledata AG’s total revenues and earnings exceeded the revised forecast in 2001. At a good EUR 15 million, total revenues were roughly 8.5 % up on projections in 2001 (2000: EUR 6.6 million). After breaking even in 2000, the Company posted EBT of approx. EUR 0.8 million in 2001, i.e. well in excess of expectations. EBT per share came to roughly EUR 0.11 per share in 2001, up from the forecast EUR 0.05. At approx. EUR 0.45 million, EBIT was also substantially higher than expected.
