Freedom Foods Group Limited New Aseptic Packaging and Logistics Facility in South West Sydney

Freedom Foods Group Limited (ASX:FNP) today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire land for a new integrated Aseptic (UHT) production and logistics facility in south west Sydney.

FNP will acquire approximately 66,000 sq. metres of land at Ingleburn in South West Sydney. The acquisition price subject to final adjustments is approximately $16.6 million.

Settlement is expected on or around February 2015, once final sub divisions and other approvals have been obtained.

Freedom Foods Group Managing Director, Rory Macleod said this announcement was another key step in the transformation of the Company and its place in the Australian food industry.

“This decision follows our $45 million investment in state-of-the-art aseptic (UHT) dairy milk facilities for Pactum Dairy Group in Shepparton, as well as significant investment in projects to increase Allergen Free Cereal and Snack capacity and efficiency at the Freedom Foods facility in Leeton”.

“We are investing in the future of Freedom Foods Group to deliver increased shareholder returns, as we seek to meet and serve the growing needs of international and domestic consumers for high quality Australian food and beverages” Mr Macleod said.

The site and location provides for a significantly expanded integrated packaging facility that will provide a range of world-leading technologies with state-of-the-art automation for processing and packaging a range of food and beverages destined for Australian and Asian consumers.

The new facility will provide superior capabilities to customise food and beverage products for local preferences with efficiency and speed to meet the growing demand for high quality safe foods from Australia marketed under the Company’s brands “Australia’s Own” and “Freedom Foods” and leading brands of key customers in Australia and internationally.

The new facility will also provide for significant expansion in capacity and efficiency improvements as compared to current operations, including warehousing and logistics.

Construction of facility is expected to commence in 2[nd] half FY 2015, with production commencing from 2[nd] half FY 2016.

The acquisition of land, associated building and capital requirements is expected to be funded from existing finance facilities and other assets.
