Equipment failure cost 200 Fry

During a routine inspection carried out by our experienced personnel at 7:50 on the 23rd of July 2021, we discovered a 57 masks vertical tear in one of our nets at Frosvika location. The matter was reported to the Fisheries ministry, and immediate action was taken to repair the damage. The equipment is less than 2 months old and made of premium polyester nets, which are superior industry standard.

The manufacturer is investigating the matter and will be reverting with their findings in due course. Norcod AS has increased the frequency of inspections, until a conclusion is reached together with the manufacturer as to the cause of the failure.

An estimated 200 fry are thought to have left the pen. This matter does not represent any economic or financial consequence for Norcod AS.
