The ministry of power had extended the tenure of Singh from February 4, 2021, till July 31, 2025, the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
NTPC's present generation capacity stands at 66 GW, out of which 54 GW or 82% is coal-fired.
Going ahead the company is planning to reduce the net energy intensity by 10% in the next 10 years. To achieve the target NTPC plans to add nearly 4,000 MW of clean energy capacity every year, which
would be scaled up to 8,000 MW closer to 2032. The power producer is also
exploring development of large-scale offshore wind power plants with Oil & Natural Gas Corp through a joint venture.
Sembcorp raises S\$675 m through SLBs
SINGAPORE-BASED SEMB-CORP INDUSTRIES has raised S\$675 million (675 million Singapore dollars) through sustainability-linked bonds (SLB) with a tenor of 10-and-a-half years and a coupon rate of $2.66\%$ , the company said on Wednesday. The money will be utilised in financing the company's working capital requirements, refinancing the group's existing debt and financing or refinancing its renewable energy projects.
Vipul Tuli, CEO, South Asia, of Sembcorp Industries, recently told FE that the company is eyeing the acquisition route to increase its renewable energy base in India.

NOTICE is hereby given that Extra-Ordinary General Meeting of the members of the Norben Tea & Exports Limited will be held on Monday, the 25th October, 2021 at 11.30 A.M. (IST) through Video Conferencing ("VC") or Other Audio Visual Means ("OAVM") in compliance with the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013('the Act'), SEBI (Listing Obligation and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations 2015 and MCA Circulars dated 5th May 2020 read with the General Circulars dated 8th April, 2020 and 13th April 2020 to transact the business as set out in the Notice of the Extra-Ordinary General Meeting dated September 16, 2021
In terms of the aforesaid circulars, the Notice of the EOGM has been sent by e-mail to the registered e-mail id of the shareholders whose IDs are registered with the Company or the Registrar and Share Transfer Agent (RTA) or other Depository Participant(s) and the same has been completed on 29th September, 2021.

As per Section 108 of the Companies Act, 2013 read with Rule 20 of the Companies (Management and Administration) Amendment Rules, 2015, the Company is pleased to provide its Shareholders the facility to cast their vote by electronic means on the resolution set forth in the Notice. The details pursuant to the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 and the Rules are given here under:
a) Date and time of commencement of remote E-voting: 22nd October, 2021 at 9.00 a.m.

e) Remote E-Voting shall not be allowed beyond 5.00 p.m. on 24th October, 2021.

নিয়চাপের জেরে উত্তাল দিঘার সমুদ্র
দরন্ত বার্তা, হলদিয়া, ২৯ সেপ্টেম্বর ঃ গাঙ্গেয় পশ্চিমবঙ্গে গভীর নিয়চাপের জেরে দক্ষিণবঙ্গের জেলাগুলিতে চলছে বৃষ্টি। মঙ্গলবার রাত থেকেই পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরের বিস্তীর্ণ এলাকাতেও ব্যাপক বৃষ্টিপাত হচ্ছে। যার জেরে নিচু এলাকাগুলি ইতিমধ্যেই জলমগ্ন হয়ে পড়েছে। বৃষ্টি এবং জল জমার জেরে সাধারণ মানুষের দুর্ভোগ বাড়লেও দিঘাসহ উপকূল এলাকায় বিপজ্জনক পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হয়নি বলেই জানানো হয়েছে জেলা প্রশাসন সত্রে। বঙ্গোপসাগরে `তৈরি হওয়া এই নিয়চাপের কেন্দ্রবিন্দু রয়েছে হলদিয়ায়। সেখানেই জেলার মধ্যে সর্বাধিক বৃষ্টিপাত হয়েছে। গত ২৪ ঘন্টায় শুধু হলদিয়াতেই বৃষ্টি হয়েছে ২১৬ মিলিমিটার (মিমি)। হলদিয়ার থেকে কম হলেও কাঁথি এবং দিঘাতেও ভারী বৃষ্টি হয়েছে। কাঁথিতে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় বৃষ্টি হয়েছে ১০৩ মিমি। উপকূলবর্তী এলাকায় ভারী বৃষ্টির পর্বাভাস আগেই দিয়েছিল আবহাওয়া দফতর। সে জন্য আগাম প্রস্তুতি ছিল প্রশাসনেরও। উপকল এলাকায় আগে থেকেই জারি ছিল সতর্কতা। দিঘায় সমুদ্রে নামতে দেওয়া হচ্ছে না কাউকে। পর্যটকদের ভিড় এড়াতে হোটেলগুলি খালি করার নির্দেশ আগেই দেওয়া হয়েছিল জেলা প্রশাসনের তরফে। কেলেঘাই নদীর বাঁধ ভেঙে গত সপ্তাহে প্লাবিত হয়েছিল ভগবানপুর, এগরা, পটাশপুর ও চণ্ডীপুরে বেশ কয়েকটি এলাকা। মঙ্গলবার থেকে বৃষ্টির জেরে ওই এলাকার মানুষের দুর্ভোগ আরও বেড়েছে। রামনগর এক ব্লকের সভাপতি শম্পা মহাপাত্র ভলেছেন, 'মঙ্গলবার রাত ৩টে পর্যন্ত বিভিন্ন এলাকায় নজরদারি চালানো হয়েছে। রাতভর বৃষ্টি চললেও যশের মতো পরিস্থিতি হয়নি। নিচু এলাকায় বৃষ্টির জল জমেছে। তবে বৃষ্টি থামলে তা নিকাশির মাধ্যমে বেরিয়ে যাবে।' তিনি আরও বলেছেন, 'কোনও রকম বিপর্যয়ের আভাস পেলেই সৈকত এলাকাকে দ্রুত খালি করে দেওয়ার প্রস্তুতি নেওয়া আছে। তবে এখনও পর্যন্ত আতঙ্কের পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হয়নি।' আবহাওয়া দফতর জানিয়েছে, বুধবার সারা দিনই মেদিনীপুরের উপকূলবর্তী এলাকায় চলবে বৃষ্টি। ঝোড়ো হাওয়ার জেরে দিঘার সমুদ্রও রয়েছে উত্তাল। এদিকে হলদিয়া বন্দরে বার্থগুলি জলে ডুবে থাকায় কাজে ব্যাহত। শিল্পনগরী হলদিয়াতে মঙ্গলবার রাত থেকে বুধবার সকালের বৃষ্টিতে বিভিন্ন এলাকা ডুবে রয়েছে। বেশকিছু আবাসনের রাস্তাঘাট জলে ডুবে রয়েছে। হলদিয়া বন্দরের বিভিন্ন বার্থ জলে ডুবে রয়েছে। যার ফলে মাল ওঠানামায় কাজের ব্যাঘাত ঘটেছে।
তিন ধাতুর দুর্গা প্রতিমা গেল ওড়িশায়
দুরন্ত বার্তা, শান্তিনিকেতন, ২৯ সেপ্টেম্বর ঃ কাঁসা-পিতল ও তামা, তিন ধাতুর দুর্গা প্রতিমা শান্তিনিকেতন থেকে পাড়ি প্রতিবেশী রাজ্য ওড়িশায়। প্রতিমা `তৈরি করতে ব্যয় হয়েছে ৩ লক্ষর কিছু বেশি। শান্তিনিকেতনের মৃত্তিকা স্টডিওতে এই কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়। প্রায় দুমাসে ছ'শো শ্রমদিবসে এই কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়। অতিমারীর সময় স্পনসর না পাওয়া না গেলে হয়তো এই কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হতো না বলে মনে করছেন শিল্পীরা। তবে অর্থের কারণে বাদ পড়েছে কার্তিক, গণেশ, লক্ষী ও সরস্বতী। সুজয় মুর্মু, রবি মুর্মু, সহদেব সহ দশ জন শিল্পী মিলে এই কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে। মর্তির ব্যাপারে শান্তিনিকেতন শিল্পী আশীষ ঘোষ বলেন, ওড়িশা থেকে আশীষ পালিত এই প্রতিমার অর্ডার দিয়েছেন। আগস্ট মাস থেকে তৈরি করতে শুরু হয় ৯-১০ জন শিল্পী মিলে। একই সাথে জেলার অন্যান্য শিল্পীরা মূর্তির তৈরিতে হাত লাগিয়েছেন। যেমন জয়দেব টিকোরবেতা কাঁসা পিতল সামগ্রী তৈরি করে হারাধন মহোদরী। উনি কাজ করেছেন মুর্তির পিতল দিকটা। এছাড়া পাঁশকড়ার শিল্পীরা তামার গহণা তৈরি করেন। তাদের শিল্পকর্ম আছে। এমনকি ডিজাইন দেখাশোনা করেছে বিশ্বভারতীর কলাভবনের প্রাক্তন ছাত্র-ছাত্রীরা। মুর্তিটি ভিন্ন রাজ্য পাড়ি দেবার্ কারণে পরিবহনের সুবিধার্থে ফোল্ডিং ভাবে তৈরি করা হয়েছে। মর্তির মোট্ওজন প্ৰায় ৩ কুইন্টাল মতো। তবে ভীষণ ভালো লাগছে এত বড় কাজ করে।
