This is with reference to the Notice dated 26th June, 2021 ("Notice of the AGM sent to the members for convening the 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM). Regulations the Share Transfer Registers of the Company shall remain closed from Saturday 21st August, 2021 to Friday 27th August, 2021 (both days inclusive) for the purpose of AGM and ascertaining the eligibility of the Members who shall be entitled to receive the dividend, if declared at the AGM.

Pursuant to Finance Act, 2020, dividend income will be taxable in the hands of the shareholders w.e.f. 1st April 2020 and the Company is required to deduct tax at source ("TDS") from dividend paid to the Members at prescribed rates in the Income Tax Act, 1961 ("the IT Act"). For the prescribed rates for various categories, conditions for Nil/preferential TDS and details / documents required thereof, Members are requested to refer to the IT Act and Notice of the 87th AGM in this regard. In general, to enable compliance with TDS requirements, Members are requested to complete and/ or update their Residential Status, PAN, Category as per the IT Act with their Depository or in case shares are held in physical form, with the Company by sending email to newindia@birlasugar.org.

In the event the Company is unable to pay the dividend to any member by electronic mode, due to non-registration of the Electronic Bank Mandate, the Company shall dispatch the dividend warrant/ Bankers' cheque/ demand draft to such Member, at the earliest once the normalcy is restored.

দুরন্ত বার্তা, শান্তিপর, ২৮ জলাই ঃ গরুর গাড়িতে করে অভিনব পদ্ধতিতে কেন্দ্র সরকারের জনবিরোধী নীতি এবং পেট্রোল-ডিজেলের দাম বৃদ্ধি নিয়ে পথে নেমে বিক্ষোভ দেখাতে শুরু করল শান্তিপুর ব্লক যুব তৃণমূল কংগ্ৰেস। পথচলতি বিভিন্ন মোটর বাইক আরোহীকে করানো হলো মিষ্টিমুখ। এদিন নদীয়ার শান্তিপুর থানার ফুলিয়া বাসষ্ট্যান্ড সংলগ্ন এলাকায় বিক্ষোভ দেখান তারা। মূলত পেট্রোল এবং ডিজেলের দাম দিন দিন যেভাবে বদ্ধি পাচ্ছে তাতে সাধারণ মানুষ নাজেহাল হয়ে পড়েছে। পেট্রোল-ডিজেলের দাম বৃদ্ধি হওয়ার কারণে নিত্য প্রয়োজনীয় বিভিন্ন জিনিসপত্রের দাম ঊর্ধ্বমুখী। এর পাশাপাশি বর্তমানে পেগাসাস সফটওয়্যার নিয়ে দেশের রাজনীতি উত্তপ্ত। অভিযোগ কেন্দ্রের বিজেপি সরকার উদ্দেশ্য প্রণোদিত ভাবে অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের ফোনের যাবতীয় তথ্য নেওয়ার চেষ্টা করছে। নদীয়া দক্ষিণের প্রাক্তন যুব সভাপতি প্রসেনজিৎ মন্ডল বলেন, যেভাবে পেট্রোল ও ডিজেলের দাম বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে সেই সঙ্গে কেন্দ্র সরকারের নির্দেশে বেআইনিভাবে ফোন থেকে তথ্য সংগ্ৰহ করা হচ্ছে তার তীব্র প্রতিবাদ জানাই। রাজ্যজড়ে আমরা এই প্রতিবাদে সামিল হয়েছি। ঠিক একই ভাবে এদিন শান্তিপুরের ফুলিয়ায় বিক্ষোভ কৰ্মসূচি গ্ৰহণ করল তৃণমূল কংগ্ৰেস।

পরিচ্ছন্নতার জন্য

দুরন্ত বার্তা, শিলিগুড়ি, ২৮ জুলাই ঃ শহরকে আবর্জনা মক্ত রাখতে আগে থেকেই শহরের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় বাঁশি বাজিয়ে বাড়ির নোংরা আবৰ্জনা সংগ্ৰহ করা হত। এবার এই কাজেই এক নতুন পদক্ষেপ নিল শিলিগুড়ি পৌরনিগম। বুধবার শিলিগুড়ির বাঘাযতীন মদানের সামনে পৌরনিগমের প্রশাসক মন্ডলীর চেয়ারম্যান গৌতম দেব পৌরনিগমের নতুন আবর্জনা সংগ্রহ গাড়ির উদ্বোধন করেন। এই গাড়িগুলো পৌর নিগমের অন্তর্গত বিভিন্ন ওয়ার্ডে ভাগ করে দেওয়া হবে। গৌতম দেব সহ এদিনের উদ্বোধনীতে উপস্থিত ছিলেন পৌরনিগমের প্রশাসক মন্ডলীর সদস্য রঞ্জন সরকার, পৌরনিগমের কমিশনার সোনম ওয়াংদি ভুটিয়া সহ অন্যান্য সদস্য ও কর্মীরা। এদিন রঞ্জন সরকার জানান, যে সমস্ত আবৰ্জনা সংগ্ৰহ গাড়িগুলো পৌরনিগমে ভাড়াতে খাটছিল সেই সমস্ত গাড়ি গুলোকে সরিয়ে দিয়ে আজ থেকে পৌরনিগমের নিজস্ব এই গাড়ি ও টোটোগুলো চলবে। তিনি আরও জানান, দৈনন্দিনের আবৰ্জনা যতটা সম্ভব দ্ৰুত সরিয়ে দেওয়ার ব্যাবস্থা করা হবে। পাশাপাশি তিনি জানান, 'সবুজ শিলিগুড়ি-পরিষ্কার শিলিগুড়ি' এই স্লোগান নিয়েই তারা কাজ করছেন এবং পরবর্তীতে কাজ করে যাবেন।

তৃণমূল কংগ্ৰেসে স্বাগত জানালেন উত্তর দিনাজপুর জেলা তৃণমূল শীর্ষ নেতৃত্ব। সবুজ আবিরে রাঙিয়ে বরণ করে নেওয়া হল তাদের। এবার থেকে গ্রামে হবে উন্নয়ন, বিপদে-আপদে সর্বদা গ্রামের মানুষের পাশে থেকে কাজ করার অঙ্গীকার নিলেন সদ্য বিজেপি ও সিপিএম-কংগ্রেস ছেড়ে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসে যোগদানকারী পঞ্চায়েত সদস্যরা। ২০১৮ সালে পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনে রায়গঞ্জ ব্লকের ১২ নম্বর বরুয়া গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের দখল নিয়েছিল বিজেপি। মোট ২৭ সদসোর পঞ্চায়েতে বিজেপি পেয়েছিল ১১টি আসন. তৃণমূল কংগ্ৰেস ১২টি এবং সিপিএম-কংগ্ৰেস জোট পেয়েছিল ৪টি আসন। বিজেপির ১১ জন এবং বাম-কংগ্রেস জোটের ৪ জন সদস্য মিলে বরুয়া গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের দখল নেয় বিজেপি। ২০২১-এর বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে বিপল সংখ্যা গরিষ্ঠতা নিয়ে রাজেরে ততীয়বারের জন্য ক্ষমতায় আসে মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস। এরপর থেকেই একে একে বিজেপির দখলে থাকা গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত তাসের ঘরের মতো ভেঙে পড়তে থাকে। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উন্নয়ন কর্মযজ্ঞে শামিল হতে বিজেপি ও বাম-কংগ্রেস সদস্যরা দলে দলে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসে নাম লেখাতে শুরু করেন। এদিন রায়গঞ্জ ব্লকের বিজেপি পরিচালিত ১২ নং বরুয়া গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের প্রধানের

বর্ষীয়ান নেতার প্রয়াণে শোক শান্তিপরে

দুরন্ত বার্তা, শান্তিপুর, ২৮ জুলাই ঃ পৌরপিতা অজয় দে'র মৃত্যুর পর রাজনীতিতে আবারও শোকের ছায়া, এবার শ্বাসকষ্টজনিত কারণে প্রয়াত হলেন শান্তিপুর পৌরসভার প্রাক্তন ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান কুমারেশ চক্রবর্তী। মৃত্যুকালে তার বয়স হয়েছিল ৭৩ বছর। উল্লেখ্য, বেশ কয়েক মাস যাবত শ্বাসকষ্ট জনিত সমস্যায় ভূগছিলেন বৰ্ষীয়ান নেতা কুমারেশ চক্রবর্তী। গত চার দিন আগে কলকাতার একটি বেসরকারি হাসপাতালে তাকে ভর্তি করানো হয় সেখানেই তার চিকিৎসা চলছিল। বুধবার সকালেই পরিবারে খবর আসে তিনি প্রয়াত হয়েছেন, খবর পৌঁছাতেই নেমে আসে শোকের ছায়া। বর্ষীয়ান নেতা কুমারেশ চক্রবর্তী শান্তিপুরের রাজনৈতিক মহলে খুবই সুপরিচিত একজন রাজনৈতিক নেতা ছিলেন। শান্তিপুরের সাধারন মানুষ তাকে লড়াকু নেতা বলে থাকতেন, এর আগেও শান্তিপুর পৌরসভার ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান পদে তিন মাসের জন্য নিযুক্ত ছিলেন। শান্তিপুর পৌরসভার পৌর প্রশাসক অজয় দে'র খুবি ঘনিষ্ঠ ছিলেন কুমারেশ চক্রবর্তী। তার রাজনৈতিক জীবনে বিভিন্ন কারণে দলবদল করেন তিনি। কিন্তু যে কোনো রাজনৈতিক সমাবেশ বা জনসভায় তার বক্তব্য শোনার জন্য অধীর আগ্রহে থাকতেন শান্তিপুরের একাংশ মানুষ। বর্তমানে তিনি রাজ্যের শাসক দল তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ছিলেন। আজ তাঁর অকাল প্রয়াণে শোকের ছায়া গোটা শান্তিপুরের পাশাপাশি পরিবারে। যদিও বর্ষীয়ান নেতা কমারেশ চক্রবর্তীর প্রয়ানের পরে কোন রাজনৈতিক দলের নেতারা তার বাড়িতে একবারের জন্য যোগাযোগ করেনি বলেই দুঃখপ্রকাশ করেন কুমারের চক্রবর্তীর স্ত্রী। কুমারেশ চক্রবর্তীর বন্ধুবান্ধব জানান, তার পরিবার এখন খুবই অসহায়। কুমারেশ চক্রবর্তী নিজের জীবনের বেশিরভাগ সময় কাঁটিয়েছেন রাজনীতিতে। কিন্তু তার মৃত্যুর খবর পেয়ে কোনো নেতার দেখা মেলেনি বলেই দঃখ প্রকাশ করেন তার প্রিয়জনরা। পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়, কুমারের চক্রবর্তীর মৃতদেহ কলকাতা থেকে শান্তিপুর এসে পৌঁছাতে বিকেল হতে পারে। স্বভাবতই কুমারেশ চক্রবর্তীকে শেষবার দেখার জন্য অধীর আগ্রহে তার পরিবারসহ অনুগামীরা।

বিরুদ্ধে অনাস্থা আনে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস। বিজেপির ৩জন এবং জোটের ৪জন পঞ্চায়েত সদস্য তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের পক্ষে ভোট দিয়ে বিজেপি বোর্ডের বিরুদ্ধে অনাস্থা পাশ করিয়ে নেয়। এর ফলে বর্তমানে ১২ নং বরুয়া গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের ২৭ জন সদস্যের মধ্যে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের দাঁড়ালো ১৯ জন, এবং বিজেপির ৮ জন। অনায়াসেই বরুয়া গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের বোর্ড দখল করল তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস। তণমল কংগ্রেসে যোগদানকারী দলতাাগী বিজেপি ও বাম-কংগ্রেস সদস্যরা জানিয়েছেন, বিজেপিতে হিংসা আর উস্কানিমলক রাজনীতি এবং চরম গোষ্ঠীদ্বন্দ্ব। ফলে বিজেপির দখলে থাকা বরুয়া গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের সাধারণ মানুষের কোনও উন্নয়নমূলক কাজই হচ্ছিল না। অনাস্থা এনে গ্রামের সাধারন উন্নয়ন ও পরিষেবা দেওয়ার লক্ষ্যে তণমল কংগ্রেসে যোগ দিয়েছেন তাঁরা। রায়গঞ্জ ব্লক তণমল কংগ্ৰেস সভাপতি মানস ঘোষ জানিয়েছেন, বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে রাজ্যে তৃণমূল পুনরায় ক্ষমতায় আসার পর দলে দলে বিজেপি ছেড়ে তৃণমূল কংগ্ৰেসে যোগদান করছেন। গ্রামের মানুষের সার্বিক উন্নয়নের স্বার্থে বিজেপি ছেড়ে মখ্যমন্ত্ৰী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উন্নয়নে শামিল হতেই পঞ্চায়েতের বোর্ড পরিবর্তন করলেন বরুয়া গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের সদসৰো।

৯ এমএম দেশী পিস্তুল, কার্তৃজ সহ এক ব্যক্তিকে গ্রেফতার করল এনজেপি থানার সাদা পোশাকের পুলিশ। তদন্তের স্বার্থে পুলিশী রিমান্ডের আবেদন। পুলিশ সজাগ হলেও কমেনি অপরাধমলক কাজ। এনজেপি থানার অন্তর্গত বিভিন্ন এলাকায় প্রায় প্ৰতনিয়তই এমন কৰ্মকাণ্ডের আঁচ মেলে। কিছুদিন আগেও ফুলবাড়িতে খুনের ঘটনাও ঘটতে দেখা গেছে। তবে সমস্ত বিষয়ের উপর সক্রিয় ভূমিকা গ্ৰহন করছে শিলিগুড়ি মেট্টোপলিটন পলিশের এনজেপি থানা। মঙ্গলবার রাতে অম্বিকানগর আন্ডারপাস থেকে বিভাস দত্ত নামে এক ব্যক্তিকে গ্রেফতার করে পুলিশ। তার কাছ থেকে উদ্ধার হয় ইম্প্ৰোভাইস ৯ এমএম দেশি লোডেড ফায়ার আর্মস। ধত ব্যক্তির বাড়ি এনজেপি থানার ভট্টাবাডি এলাকায়। পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা গেছে, এর আগেও থানায় একাধিক মামলা রয়েছে তার নামে। পুলিশের প্রাথমিক অনুমান বিহার থেকে পিস্তলটি বিক্রির উদ্যশ্য নিয়ে এসেছিল সে। বধবার ধত ব্যক্তিকে জলপাইগুড়ি আদালতে পাঠানো হয়।
