Item 8.01. Other Events

On July 26, 2017, the board of directors (the “Board”) of Noodles & Company (the “Company”) appointed Jeffrey W. Jones to serve as the lead independent director of the Board, effective immediately. Mr. Jones has served as a director of the Company and as Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board since September 2013. He has also served on the Board’s Compensation Committee since August 2015.
