CLARIFICATION ON NEXI – INTESA SAN PAOLO

Milan, November 20, 2019 – With reference to some press reports that appeared today on some media, Nexi confirms that preliminary contacts have been initiated in recent days to evaluate eventual operations aimed at extending the existing partnership between Nexi and Intesa San Paolo.

Nexi does specify that these contacts are entirely preliminary and no project has been defined, either of an industrial or financial nature, that contemplates economic values.

In any case, any hypothetical operation can only be consistent with the mission of Nexi to be the Paytech - independent partner - of the entire Italian banking system.

In this context, the news that the hypothetical operation could involve a shareholding of 30-40% in Nexi's capital should be considered groundless.
