RESULTS FROM HOLE LODT005

Highlights:

Strong structural relationship established between gold grades and geological structure

Significant widths of mineralisation encounteredNext phase of exploration to commence later this month

Timpetr a Resource s Limited (“ T impetra”) is pleased to announce r e ceipt of as s ay results from hole LODT0 0 5 on its Lo c kington Pro j ect in Central Victoria. A gold grad e of 5.3 g/t w as returne d over an interval of 0.7 metr e s in quartz-filled fractured sandstone, and a 6 .9 metre wide interval o f quartz veined s andstone r e turned a weighted aver a ge grade of 1.2 g/t gold.

Assay r e sults have been recei v ed for the l ast hole of the first drilling progra m by Timpe t ra on its Locking t on Project. The five h ole progra m was desi g ned to test a structura l model for the gold minerali s ation at th e Lockingto n South Pro s pect, and to refine the geological u nderstandi n g of the project a rea.

The pro g ram yielde d a large a m ount of use f ul data whi c h the geolo g y team is c urrently assessing in prepara t ion for a r e sumption o f targeted d rilling. T i mpetra is e ncouraged that the drilling has intersec t ed significa n t gold bearing structure s in three of the five hol e s. Minerali s ed intervals for holes LODT0 0 3 and LODT004 have a lready bee n reported for the quarter ending J u ne 2010, b ut assay data for hole LODT 0 05 were not available at that time.

New as s ay data for h ole LODT0 0 5 include:

  • 1.0 metre at 1.59 g/t gol d from 258. 9 metres, in fractured an d quartz vein e d sandston

  • 0.7 metres a t 5.33 g/t g o ld from 270.6 metres, in a quartz br e ccia sandst o ne  1.0 metre at 2.06 g/t gol d from 281. 4 metres, in a zone of thi n carbonate v eins  2.1 metres w ith an aver a ge weighte d grade of 2.55 g/t gold f r om 285.4 meters

The int e rval from 281.4 to 28 8 .3 metres ( 6 .9 metres downhole i n tersection) r eturned an average weighte d grade of 1.2 g/t gold. This interval is in t h e core of t h e Guernse y Anticline, which is approxi m ately 200 m etres east o f the Friesi a n Anticline.

The 5.3 g/t intersec t ion at 270 m etres is als o in this anti c line, implyi n g a strong s tructural relationship betwee n gold grade s and the anticline centr e .

These results, co m bined wit h those of hole LODT004, illustrate that s ignificant w idths of minerali s ation are a ssociated w ith tightly f o lded sands t ones. Bot h the Friesi a n and the G uernsey Anticlin e s now pr e sent as s i gnificant t a rgets for the development of F o sterville style gold minerali s ation at Lo c kington.

Timpetra Chief Executive Officer, Dion Cohen said:

“The Company views the outcome of this, its first exploration program, as very encouraging. It has proven that structural occurrences at Lockington are associated with significant gold mineralization. The grades and widths intersected suggest that economic mineralization could be encountered in association with the anticlines identified. Work is currently being carried out to understand more thoroughly the geology and, based on that, to design a follow up drilling program - expected to commence later this month.”

About Timpetra Resources Limited

Timpetra is a public listed Australian company that is focused on the identification, assessment and development of gold projects. The Company’s maiden project is the Lockington Project, an advanced gold exploration project situated within Central Victoria’s established gold district near the town of Lockington. Since July 2003, over 100,000 meters of drilling has been completed at the Lockington property, as well as extensive geochemistry and ground geophysics work. The Lockington Project is supported by Timpetra’s major shareholder, Gold Fields Australasia Pty Ltd who has a technical services agreement in place with the Company.

Statement as to Competency

The Exploration Results in this report have been compiled by Mr Geoff Turner, who is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, has more than ten years in the estimation, assessment, and evaluation of mineral resources and ore reserves, and has more than 20 years in exploration for the relevant style of mineralisation that is being reported. In these regards, Geoff Turner qualifies as a Competent Person as defined in the 2004 edition of the “Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves”.

Geoff Turner is contracted to Timpetra through his company Exploration Management Services Pty Ltd, and consents to the inclusion in this report of these matters based on the information in the form and context in which it appears.

Forward Looking Statements

This announcement contains certain forward looking statements which by nature, contain risk and uncertainty because they relate to future events and depend on circumstances that occur in the future.
