Information of Accident at Balaghat Mine

Dear Sir/Madam,

We have gathered from market sources about a rum our that there has been a huge accident at company's plant at Balaghat Mine and production has stopped. In this regard, we wish to clarify as under:

"On 29/12/2020, fire has broken out at Manganese Beneficiation Process Plant at Balaghat Mine of the company due to short circuit. The fire has been controlled within an hour but it has damaged power supply panels and some equipments. There was no casualty due to fire. The company has already reported this incident to Director General of Mines Safety (DGMS), Government of India for necessary action. The fire has partially affected production activity for 3-4 days. However, there is no impact in mining activity and it is going on as usual. The company does not expect any major loss on account of fire. The process plant has been te1nporarily bypassed so that cleaned ore production continues."

Since there was no major impact of the above on the business of the company, the same was not reported to exchange earlier.
