METabolic EXplorer: turnover for first-half 2011

Clermont-Ferrand, 13 July 2011 - METabolic EXplorer, a green chemistry company that specializes in the development of bioprocesses for the production of chemical compounds used in a wide range of everyday products (textile fibres, paints, solvents, animal feed supplements, adhesives), today announced its turnover figure for the first half of 2011.

In the first half of 2011 METabolic EXplorer recorded no "turnover". For the record, the Company's turnover virtually exclusively comprises license income for the two products (Glycolic Acid and L-Methionine) developed in partnership with manufacturer Roquette.

As of June 30th, 2011, METabolic EXplorer, which is pursuing its usual strict management policy, had cash and equivalent of €34.3 million compared with €34.8 million as of March 31st, 2011.

Note on intellectual property: In parallel with the development launched in Malaysia and the ongoing discussions with a view to forming a first partnership, METabolic EXplorer is continuing to pursue its active policy of strengthening its intellectual property portfolio – a genuine strategic asset. As of end-June 2011, the Company has a portfolio of 379 patents, including 53 delivered in countries with strategic importance (Europe, North America and Asia). This portfolio breaks down into 63 families, including five new families filed in the first half of this year. By this time last year the company had filed 299 patents in 50 families.
