MediClin: again dividend payout − again investments in internal growth in FY 2011
Offenburg, 26 May 2011 – In his speech delivered at today's annual general meeting of MEDICLIN Aktiengesellschaft in Frankfurt Dr. Ulrich Wandschneider, CEO, has expressed his satisfaction with the business development and with what was achieved in 2010: 'We have increased sales by 16.6 million Euro up to 487.2 million Euro. About 36 million Euro were invested for construction measures, state-of-the-art medical technology, maintenance and modernisation and addition to capacity. Along with these investment then number of staff increased. But despite higher exenses, compared to the previous year, we kept the result nearly on the previous year's level'.
In 2010 close to 122 thousand cases were treated and almost 2.5 million nursing days were provided in the Group.
In 2011 optimising procedures and result quality including their measurability are in the focus. Besides generating internal growth, MediClin active explores the market for suitable opportunities to increase it's capacity.

In the post-acute segment the start in the FY 2011 was slow. While the strategic core areas namely subsequent nursing treatment as well as neurology and psychosomatic achieved a rise in 2011, the demand of the coverage providers for curative procedures decreased in part significantly. The development in the acute segment was positive.
The major shareholder Asklepios supports the business modell of MediClin
In his speech Dr. Ulrich Wandschneider refered to the joint opinion of the Management Board and Supervisory Board concerning the tender offer of Asklepios. In this joint opinon the declaration of Asklepios is apreciated to adopt the business activites and the Company strategy as it stands. 'For us this means that our since years prefered model of integrated medical care across sector borders is very attractive and that in the meantime also competitors came to the conclusion that integrated medical care as a market and patient suitable service offer will have a key function in future medical care concepts', said Dr. Ulrich Wandschneider.
The annual general meeting of MediClin agreed to the proposal of the Management and Supervisory Board to pay a dividend in the amount of 5 cent per share again.
At the annual meeting about 89 per cent of MediClin's share capital was represented. All items on the agenda which are subject to voting were passed by 99.99 % or 100 %.
