Masterflex – internationalisation continues

Gelsenkirchen, 1 March 2012 – The Masterflex Group's international focus is rapidly advancing. Recently, the subsidiary Masterflex Asia Pte Ltd in the city-state of Singapore was formally founded. The senior manager has been on board since the end of 2011. The subsidiary is currently moving into the offices in the German Centre in Singapore. At present, suitable staff is being recruited for the sales department in Singapore as well as in the neighbouring regions. The future location in China was also already found. Suitable premises with facilities for offices, a warehouse and production were found in Kunshan, approximately 1.5 hours from Shanghai by car. The current business activities on site are highly promising and the first projects and new customers are already in the starting blocks.

The accelerated internationalisation strategy of the supplier of high-tech hoses and connector systems is proving absolutely correct. 'Our positive revenue development in the BRIC countries, in which we have already been operating since 2010, is highly promising,' says Dr Andreas Bastin, CEO of Masterflex AG. The first new companies were established in Russia and Brazil in 2010. With the step towards Asia – and particularly China – that began at the end of 2011, Masterflex is continuing to expand consistently to the dynamic regions of the world.

In the course of the internationalisation process, Masterflex now also wants to adapt its legal form. The Masterflex AG bodies, the Executive Board and Supervisory Board, will propose to the Annual General Meeting on 19 June 2012 that Masterflex AG be converted into Masterflex SE.

The Societas Europaea (SE) is a legal form of the European Union. The normal international legal form of SE is better suited for acceptance by globally operating customers and investors. As Bastin comments: 'With the SE, we accelerate our internationalisation process and thus our appreciation potential. For this reason, this step is also correct and important for our investors.'

On Monday, 5 March 2012, Masterflex will publish the preliminary figures for the financial year 2011.
