Loomis makes its first acquisition in Slovakia

Loomis has acquired the Slovakian cash handling company Fenix in its first acquisition in Slovakia since entering the market in March this year. Fenix has annual sales of approximately Euro 500,000 and is the county's third largest operator.

Loomis' objective is to become one of the leading Slovakian operators, and plans to reach this position both through acquisitions and organic growth.

-Fenix has been in the market for several years and has operations in 3 locations and provides nationwide coverage, says Lars Blecko, CEO of Loomis.

The cash handling industry in Slovakia comprises a number of smaller and middle sized players.

-The relatively low degree of outsourcing within cash handling offers good opportunities to grow in this market, Lars Blecko says.

Loomis offers safe and effective solutions for the distribution, handling and recycling of cash for banks, retailers and other commercial companies via an international network consisting of more than 370 centres of operation in 12 European countries and in the US. Loomis has 20 000 employees and a turnover of 11 billion Swedish kronor. Loomis is a mid-cap listed company on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm.
