Loomis receives prestigious assignment regarding cash handling services for Systembolaget

Loomis' Swedish subsidiary has entered into a three-year agreement with Systembolaget (The Swedish Alcohol Retail Monopoly) for cash handling services. The agreement covers both cash transport for Systembolaget's retail locations and cash counting services. According to the agreement, Loomis' assignment will begin on 1 November 2009.

With over 400 locations and total net sales in excess of SEK 21 billion, Systembolaget is one of Sweden's largest retail companies.

Loomis is Sweden's leading cash handling company with some 850 employees. Loomis has a total of approximately 20,000 employees in 12 countries in Europe and the US, with net sales of approximately SEK 12 billion.

Loomis has a nationwide logistics network in Sweden, both as regards cash transport and cash counting services, which is one of the reasons Systembolaget has chosen Loomis as its new provider of cash handling services.

  • Systembolaget's extensive network of retail locations places very high demands on capacity and logistics on the part of any company providing cash handling services. Therefore, we consider Systembolaget to comprise a prestige client, contributing to the strengthening of our leading position on the Swedish market for cash handling services, comments Loomis' new head of operations in Sweden, Patrik Högberg.

  • We have chosen Loomis as a partner and supplier of cash transport services. Loomis provides both a high level of security and good quality and, in the same manner as Systembolaget, has a nationwide organisation, states Kenneth Lindström, Security Coordinator at Systembolaget.

Systembolaget will become one of Loomis' largest clients in Sweden.

Loomis offers safe and effective solutions for the distribution, handling and recycling of cash for banks, retailers and other commercial companies via an international network of more than 370 branch offices in 12 European countries and in the USA. The Group has approximately 20,000 employees and a turnover of approximately SEK 12 billion. Loomis is a mid-cap listed company on the NASDAQ OMX Stockholm.
