Corporate update: collaboration for development of iron ore assets, Gabon
Emerging West Africa focussed iron ore company Volta Mining Limited (“Volta Mining”) (ASX: VTM) announces it is in advanced discussions with an industry participant with respect to formalising collaborative agreements to accelerate each parties’ respective corporate objectives.

Corporate Update
Discussions are well underway between both parties with regards to entering into agreements (binding and non-binding) with respect to project finance, drilling services, access to infrastructure, and other collaborative efforts to expedite the development of each parties’ respective corporate objectives.
Managing Director of Volta Mining, Mr David Sumich, believes the discussions are a critical step forward in the growth of the company. ‘‘We are pleased with the progress of discussions achieved to date and look forward to successfully concluding arrangements for the introduction of a strategic partner to aid in the advancement of our projects,’’ he said.
‘‘Such collaboration makes commercial sense as the resulting agreements will better equip us, through collaborative efforts, to attaining our goal of becoming the first iron ore producer in Gabon, thus enabling Volta Mining to generate significant value for its shareholders and the Republic of Gabon,’’ he added.
Iron Ore Project Summary, Gabon
Volta Mining is one of the largest holders of prospective iron ore licences in West Africa. Its Mbombo and Kango Iron Ore Projects in Gabon are positioned in close proximity of existing infrastructure including rail and port – Appendix A .

Share Purchase Plan Extension
In light of these discussions and the recently announced Exploration Target[1] for the Kango Iron Ore Project in Gabon (refer to ASX Announcement: “Kango Iron Ore Project – Exploration Target”, dated 12 June 2013), Volta Mining’s Board of Directors have decided to extend the deadline for participation in its SPP to 5pm (WST) Friday, 5 July 2013 , to provide shareholders with the opportunity to take up their SPP entitlements on the back of this positive news.
The revised timetable for the SPP is as follows:
