LITGRID AB - Notification on material event

Concerning appointment of the electricity transmission system operator

Vilnius, Lithuania, 2013-04-26 15:14 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On 26 April 2013, the National Control Commission for Prices and Energy verified that the unbundling of transmission activities of LITGRID AB are in compliance with the requirements for transmission system operators independence set forth in the European Union's Third Energy Package and the Law on Electricity of the Republic of Lithuania, and that LITGRID AB may be appointed electricity transmission system operator. The National Control Commission for Prices and Energy will inform the European Commission about its decision and will submit supporting documents. Upon receiving a positive conclusion from the European Commission, or not receiving a negative conclusion, the National Control Commission for Prices and Energy will make a final decision on appointment of transmission system operator. Should the European Commission present objections, the final decision would be made within two months after the transmission system operator eliminated them.
