HAITEC AG english

Ad hoc announcement processed and transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– HAITEC-Group expects a positive result for 2001 after a restructuring programme – Half-year turnover increase of 23% to 50.5 million Euros – Incoming orders increase by 13% – Annual deficit on 30 June 2001 of -4.6 million Euro Munich, August 14, 2001, HAITEC AG (WKN 600 520), quoted on the New Market, reached a turnover of 50.5 million Euros in the first six months of the current business year. Despite the economic trend of decline in the IT sector, the IT service provider HAITEC managed a 23% increase in turnover for the first six months of the current business year in comparison to the same time period of the previous year (41.2 million Euros). The number of incoming orders also developed positively despite the trend in the industry. In the first half of the year HAITEC received orders to the value of 48.4 million Euros. This represents an increase of roughly 13%. The turnover with high-value services in the period under review amounted to 11.6 million Euros and therefore lies easily above the previous year’s turnover of 11.0 million Euros. The earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) in the first six months is characterised by the adopted process-optimisation and cost-sinking measures and at the end of the period under review the figure amounted to -6.9 million Euros (-1.5 million Euros in the previous year). The result is also influenced by the reduction of the workforce by roughly 10% as well as provisions for the adopted restructuring. Such one-off measures and the weakened margin in commercial business fed to a short-term burden of the result. In the period under review the annual deficit increased from -0.92 million Euros in the previous year to -4.6 million Euros. The result for the value of each share is -1.38 Euros in comparison to -0.24 Euros in the previous year. The planned restructuring and cost-sinking measures announced in the first quarter of the year have already largely been implemented and will be completed at the end of the year. Savings in the personnel area of over 1.5 million Euros, the optimisation of the buying and distribution process as well as uncompleted projects with a purchasing volume of roughly 5 Million Euros will make essential contributions to the improvement of results in the second half of the business year. On the basis of our positive increase of turnover, the positive income of orders as well as the adopted cost savings situation, HAITEC remains convinced of achieving the planned positive end of year result.
