HAMILTON JAMES & BRUCE GROUP LIMITED APPOINTS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR

The Chairman of Hamilton James & Bruce Group Limited, Anna Buduls, today announced that the Board of Directors had appointed John Colvin as its new Managing Director. Mr Colvin has extensive experience in running professional service industry organisations having been the Chief Executive Officer of legal firm Blake Dawson Waldron from 1995 to 2001 and the Chief Executive Officer of the management consulting firm PA Asia Pacific for seven years prior to that. Ms Buduls said "John Colvin has a proven track record of successfully growing professional service industry firms and increasing their profitability and the Board is looking forward to him making a similar contribution in the recruitment industry.

Mr Colvin will commence with HJB on August 16, 2004.
