K&S: First Wagons of Iron Ore Loaded & Awaiting Shipment Test Run of Railway Scales, Reclaimer Unit & Loading Unit
Friday, 5 August 2016: IRC Limited (“IRC” or the “Company”, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”; Stock Code 1029) is pleased to announce that CNEEC (K&S main contractor) has tested the railway scales, reclaimer unit and loading unit. The first wagon has been loaded with iron ore concentrates in preparation for the first trial shipment scheduled shortly.
On 1 August 2016, standard wagons arrived at the loading facility and the Russian metrology service (state agency) came to K&S and performed the scale calibration tests for the rail wagons. After suitable adjustments, the tests have been concluded with success and certificates were obtained. The calibration tests, which determine the rail scale weighing performance, ensure wagon capacity is optimised and complies with the local regulations.
In addition, the Company is also pleased to announce the testing of the loading circuit and reclaimer unit. The loading unit, which is connected to the wet concentrates storage, fed iron ore concentrates via the conveyors into the wagons. A few wagons have been fully loaded to prepare for the collision tests and first trial shipment scheduled shortly. Some minor technical issues have been identified and will be fixed by CNEEC accordingly.
Commenting on the news above, Yury Makarov, Chief Executive Officer of IRC said “In the past 2 months, we have been busy commissioning and testing each part of K&S. This week, we tested the railway scales and loading unit, paving way for future commercial production and sales. As we load up the wagons with our product, we are also preparing K&S for the first trial shipment to customers in China. Further updates will be made in due course.”
