Dear Sir/Madam,
Subject: Election of Shareholder Director of the Bank
In continuation to our letter No. ISC/321/2020-21 dated 24.11.2020 regarding election of Shareholder Director from amongst the shareholders of the Bank other than the Central Government; we have to inform you that the Board of Directors of the Bank in its meeting held on 06.02.2021 has accorded "Fit and Proper" status to the sole candidate, Dr. Bharath Krishna Sankar. Accordingly, he has been re-elected as Shareholder Director of the Bank in terms of Section 9(3)(i) of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970.
In terms of Regulation 58 (iii) of Indian Bank (Shares and Meetings) Regulations, 1999 read with sub clause (4) of clause (9) of the Nationalized Banks (Management and Miscellaneous Provisions) Scheme, 1970, Dr. Bharath Krishna Sankar will assume office of Shareholder Director of the Bank from 07.02.2021 for a period of three years till 06.02.2024.

Dr. Bharath Krishna Sankar is the Chairman of Aparajitha Corporate Services Private Ltd., headquartered at Madurai, which is into HR and Compliances related KPO services.
Dr. Bharath is an exceptional coach and highly sought-after mentor. He started Poornatha in 2017 to create a supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem in the MSME space. Poornatha hopes to utilise the perfect blend of home grown values and concepts with international business practices from Michigan University of USA to cater to the needs of the MSME entrepreneurs.
He was the recipient of TiE Chennai's "Entrepreneur of the year" award for 2015. He is the Past Chairman of the Madurai Zone of CII and the Vice Chairman of MaaMadurai Potruvom Committee.
