Shri Santosh Sharma ceased to be CMD, HCL on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.12.2019.

2. Profile of Shri Arun Kumar Shukla is enclosed. Shri Shukla is not related to any other Member of the Board of Directors of HCL or their relatives.

3. Consequent upon joining of Shri Arun Kumar Shukla as CMD, HCL, the post of Director (Operations) of the Company has fallen vacant. The administrative Ministry is being requested to fill up the vacant post of Director (Operations) of the Company.

4. It is also informed that Shri Sanjay Kumar Bhattacharya, ceased to be Director (Mining) of the Company on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.12.2019.

5. The above is submitted pursuant to Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 for information and record please.

In terms of Article 70(1) of the Articles of Association of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCl) (a Miniratna CPSE under the control of Ministry of Mines), the President is pleased to appoint Shri Arun Kumar Shukla, Director (Operations), Hindustan Copper Limited as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Hindustan Copper Limited (HCl), in the scale of pay of Rs,2,00,000- 3,70,000/- from the date of his assumption of charge of the post on or after 01.01.2020 till the date of his superannuation Le. 3107.2023, or until further orders, whichever is the earlier.

Brief profile of Shri Arun Kumar Shukla, Chairman and Managing Director, Hindustan Copper Ltd

Shri Arun Kumar Shukla has taken over as Chairman and Managing Director, Hindustan Copper Ltd (the Company) with effect from 1.1.2020 in terms of Order No. 10/1 /2019-Met.111 dated 11.12.2019 issued by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. Shri Shukla joined the Company as Director (Operations) on 1.10.2018.

Born on 7.7.1963, Shri Arun Kumar Shukla is a Graduate Mining Engineer of 1985 batch from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. He has done his M.Tech. in Environmental Engg. and also obtained degree of Law (LLB). He possesses First Class Mines Managers' Certificate under the Mines Act, 1952.

Shri Shukla is having a vast experience of Indian Mining Industry. He started his carrier from Central Coalfields Ltd. and worked there for more than 21 years, then joined NMDC Ltd. in October,2006. On deputation from NMDC, he served as Managing Director of Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. for about 2 years. He was also holding the charge of CEO of the two newly formed Joint Venture Companies of NMDC viz. NMDC-CMDC Ltd. and JNMDC Ltd. to start new mines in the state of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand respectively. Prior to join as Director (Operations) in Hindustan Copper Ltd., Shri Shukla was working as Executive Director in NMDC Ltd. and was heading one of its major units namely Bailadila Iron Ore Mines, Bacheli Complex in Bastar, Chhattisgarh. Shri Shukla is also a Director on the Board of Chhattisgarh Copper Company Ltd., a joint venture company of HCL & CMDCLtd.

Shri Arun Kumar Shukla was conferred with the prestigious FIMI Golden Jubilee Award for Excellence (2016-17) and TATA STEELMining Sustainability Award (2017-18) for his significant contribution towards sustainable mining.

Shri Shukla is an active member of various professional bodies such as Institution of Engineers (India), MGMI, MEAl, ISTD. He has visited various countries like Australia, Europe, USA, Canada, North America and Africa as a member of technical delegations of the Government of India.
