RETIREMENT AND APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR

Helix Resources Limited wishes to announce that Mr. Ewen W.J. Tyler AM has today confirmed his retirement from the Board of Helix as Non-executive director and Chairman effective immediately. At the Company's Annual General Meeting, held in November 2003, Mr. Tyler signalled his intention to retire. The Board of Directors would like to extend its appreciation to Mr. Tyler for his excellent contribution and guidance during the past eight years.

At the same Directors meeting, Dr. Michael Folie has been appointed Chairman and Nonexecutive director of Helix Resources. Dr. Folie has extensive experience in the corporate operations of the Australian Mining Industry. He was the founding Managing Director and CEO of Acacia Resources Limited from 1994 to 2000 when that Company was taken over by AngloGold. Prior to that he was Executive Director of Shell Australia, responsible for their Coal and Minerals Division.

Dr. Folie brings a level of corporate and gold mining experience to the Board of Helix at a time when the Company is embarking on a Feasibility Study and further exploration at its exciting Tunkillia Project in the Gawler Craton of South Australia.

The Board welcomes Dr. Folie as its new Chairman and looks forward to his contributions during an important period of potential growth for the Company, including developing and enhancing its portfolio of mineral prospects.
