Directorate Change

Gem Diamonds Limited (LSE: GEMD) today announces that two of its non Executive Directors have decided to retire from the Board with effect from the close of the 2015 Annual General Meeting ("AGM"). Dave Elzas, whose nine year term has ended, and Richard Williams, who has taken up a full time executive role in Toronto, will not be standing for re-election at the AGM on 2 June 2015.

Dave Elzas joined the Board in October 2005, chairing the Audit Committee during this time. Dave has been with the Company since its listing, serving nine years on the Board and therefore will not be standing for re-election at the AGM.

Richard Williams joined the Board in February 2008 and was chairman of the Remuneration Committee since June 2009. Richard has recently taken up a senior full time position at Barrick Gold in Toronto and therefore will not be standing for re-election at the AGM.

On behalf of the Board, the Chairman would like to offer his appreciation to both Directors for their valuable contributions to the Board and wishes them well in their future endeavours.  The Board is in advanced discussions with a suitably qualified non Executive candidate to join the Board and an announcement in this regard will be made at the appropriate time.
