Retiring Chairman Rick Christie thanked for service to EBOS Group Limited
EBOS Group Chairman Rick Christie received a warm vote of thanks from the Board and shareholders at the conclusion of the Company’s Annual Meeting, held in Christchurch today.
Chairing today’s meeting was Rick’s final duty after 15 years as a Director, and as Chairman since 2003. The meeting capped another successful year for EBOS, which lifted revenue, earnings and dividends to further extend its strong record of growth and increasing shareholder value.
As of the close of the meeting the chairmanship passed to Mark Waller. Mark was Chief Executive and Managing Director of EBOS from 1987 to June 2014. In May 2014, he received the Leadership Award in the INFINZ (Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand) Industry Awards.
EBOS is the largest and most diversified Australasian marketer, wholesaler and distributor of healthcare, medical and pharmaceutical products. It is also a leading marketer and distributor of animal care products in Australasia.
Mark Waller said Rick’s leadership and commitment to the company had been key elements in its success, establishing high standards for corporate governance and performance.
“The Board and management team built under Rick’s chairmanship are strongly committed to maintaining these standards as core values as we continue to take the company forward,” he said.
Rick joined the Board in June 2000 and was appointed Chairman in April 2003. He has also been a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and the Nomination Committee.
Rick is currently Chairman of ikeGPS Group Ltd, National e-Science Infrastructure (NeSI), and Service IQ; and is a director of South Port New Zealand Limited, Solnet Solutions Limited and Powerhouse Ventures Limited. He is also a Companion of The Royal Society of New Zealand. He has served on a range of other Boards, and as Chief Executive of Trade New Zealand, in a governance and management career spanning 40 years.
