MediaPartners Group announces Acquisition of Content Marketing Agency, vdbj_

MediaPartners Group B.V. ('MediaPartners'), a subsidiary of Roto Smeets Group NV, and IPG Nederland B.V., parent company of McCann Erickson Advertising Ltd and owner of communications consultancy vdbj_ B.V. ('vdbj_'), have agreed to the acquisition of vdbj_ by MediaPartners. The communications consultancy is headquartered in Bloemendaal and belongs among the top in customer media sector.

The acquisition will produce a powerful group in the field of content marketing and internal communications. The new group will employ some 125 people, in three locations: Amstelveen, Bloemendaal and Brussels, working for 50 or more clients.

Roto Smeets Group's strategy is looking to strengthen its business line Marketing Communications, and the acquisition of vdbj_ will further improve MediaPartners' position in the communications market in the Netherlands. In this way, MediaPartners can continue to be assured of sufficient strategic knowledge and creative talent. The vdbj_ takeover is an excellent fit within this strategy. vdbj_ has the right talent in place and, just like MediaPartners, has a strong track record in supplying distinctive services to top brands. The takeover will also introduce synergy, as the services that vdbj_ now contract out can be performed by MediaPartners.

The acquisition will be an equity transaction, with MediaPartners taking over 100% of vdbj_'s shares, placed and outstanding. No announcement will be made of the amounts involved.

MediaPartners Group is established in Amstelveen and Brussels and currently services the needs of more than 30 top brands in such areas as loyalty, internal and campaign communication. Clients include Albert Heijn, ABN AMRO, PostNL, Etos and KLM.

vdbj_ is established in Bloemendaal and currently numbers more than 15 top brands among its clients, servicing their loyalty and internal communication needs. Clients include UWV, Rabobank, Gall&Gall, Karwei and Randstad.
