Lufthansa acquires 19 % stake in JetBlue Airways Corporation

Lufthansa has today concluded an accord to buy a 19,0 % stake in JetBlue
Airways Corporation. It will acquire the shares from JetBlue in a block
trading transaction, coupled with a capital increase endorsed today by the
Board of Directors of the JetBlue Airways Corporation, for around 300
million US dollars. The share transfer still requires the approval of the
US regulatory authorities. Lufthansa and JetBlue will subsequently seek an
operational cooperation.

JetBlue is an airline company based in New York and listed on the NASDAQ
stock exchange. It operates flights mostly from New York, Boston and
Orlando to destinations in the U.S. and the Caribbean.
