Computershare Limited (ASX:CPU) announces that it has today appointed Dr. Markus Kerber to its Board as an additional independent non-executive director. Dr. Kerber was a director of Computershare for five years until November 2009 when he was required to retire due to his appointment as the Head of the Planning Department in the German Treasury. Dr. Kerber has recently been elected as the managing director of the German Federation of Industries and is free to resume as a director of Computershare. Prior to his appointment in the German Treasury, Dr. Kerber was the Director General at the German Ministry of the Interior from 2006 until 2009 and between 1998 and 2005 he was CFO, COO and Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board of GFT Technologies AG. Prior to GFT, Dr. Kerber worked as an investment banker in London in the equity capital markets divisions of Deutsche Bank AG and S.G. Warburg & Co Limited. He is a member of the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) and the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) in Berlin. Markus was also appointed to the Board of GFT Technologies AG as a non-executive director in June 2009. The Company’s Chairman, Mr Chris Morris, said that Computershare is delighted to welcome Dr Kerber back to the Computershare board.
