It caters to clients engaged in the defense sector in India and commercial sector worldwide. Cochin Shipyard Ltd is the largest public sector shipyard in India in terms of dock capacity, as of March 31, 2015, according to the CRISIL Report. The company has also been conferred the 'Miniratna' status in 2008, by the Department of Public Enterprises, GOI. Cochin Shipyard has secured shipbuilding orders from internationally renowned companies from Europe & Middle East and is nominated to build the country’s first indigenous Air Defense Ship. In addition to shipbuilding and ship repair, Cochin Shipyard Ltd also offers marine engineering training.
