VOLUNTARY ANNOUNCEMENT ESTABLISHMENT OF CITIC FINANCIAL HOLDINGS APPROVED

We refer to the announcement issued by CITIC Limited (the “ Company ”) on June 4, 2021 in relation to the proposed establishment of a new financial holding subsidiary (“ CITIC Financial Holdings ”) by CITIC Corporation Limited (“ CITIC Corporation ”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, and the People’s Bank of China (“ PBOC ”) having accepted the application for establishment.

The Company is pleased to announce that pursuant to the announcement issued by PBOC on March 17, 2022, PBOC has approved the application for administrative license of the establishment of the financial holding company by CITIC Corporation.

The Company will complete the company establishment registration of CITIC Financial Holdings and steadily carry out assets reorganization of its financial services in accordance with relevant regulatory provisions. Through CITIC Financial Holdings, the Company will further strengthen centralized and unified management of its financial services business, enhancing its financial services capacity, to build a solid foundation for high-quality development promoting the long-term and focused development of the Company, especially the financial services sector.

Shareholders and prospective investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the securities of the Company.
