Anthony Smurfit to retire from Board
Dublin, London | 23 March, 2016: C&C Group plc (“C&C” or the “Company”), a leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of branded cider, beer, wine and soft drinks, announces that Anthony Smurfit will retire from the C&C Board with effect from today’s date.
He has served on the Board of Directors and on the Audit Committee since April 2012.
Sir Brian Stewart, Chairman, commented: “On behalf of the Board, we would like to thank Tony for his service to C&C Group over the past four years. Tony has made a significant contribution to the Board but his decision to step down is understandable given his singular focus on his new role as Chief Executive Officer of Smurfit Kappa Group. We wish Tony well for the future.”
