DOWNER AWARDED TWO NEW CONTRACTS IN WA

Downer EDI Limited (Downer) today announced it had been awarded two contracts with BHP Billiton Iron Ore Pty Ltd. Downer has been awarded the Rail Package as part of the Ore Car Repair Workshop, valued at approximately $40 million, and the Shiploaders 1 and 2 Project, valued at approximately $60 million.

The Rail Package as part of the Ore Car Repair Workshop involves the design and construction of railworks for the Workshop, including design of signalling and communications system, construction of new track equipment rooms, new cable and routes and other works. Work is expected to be completed in the second half of 2014.

The Shiploaders 1 and 2 Project involves upgrading two conveyors at Nelson Point, Port Hedland, followed by deconstruction of the existing shiploaders. Final work is expected to be completed in the first half of 2015.
