ASX Release

Business Update Key Contract Extension and New Network Support Agreement

Energy Developments Limited (ASX: ENE or the “ Company ”) is pleased to announce commercial agreement to a four year extension of the current contract to supply power at BHP Billiton’s Cannington Mine, and the execution of its first Network Support Agreement in connection with the 45MW Moranbah North Waste Coal Mine Gas (WCMG) power project.

The two achievements underscore the embedded value in ENE’s existing portfolio of clean power generation projects.

ENE and BHP Billiton have reached commercial agreement to extend the existing Cannington Mine Gas Power Station Agreement, on similar terms, from its current expiry date of 2014 until 2018, subject to final contractual documentation and third party approvals.

ENE owns and operates the 38MW Cannington natural gas power station, supplying low greenhouse gas emission power and process heat to BHP Billiton’s Cannington lead, zinc and silver mine in north west Queensland. The mine is the world’s largest and lowest cost producer of lead and silver.

ENE has also executed an agreement to provide electricity network support from its Moranbah North WCMG power project located in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, to Vale’s majority owned Carborough Downs Coal Mine.

ENE Managing Director, Mr Greg Pritchard said; These latest agreements are further evidence of ENE’s credentials as a safe, reliable and efficient clean energy supplier .”

“They are also good examples of the Company’s focus on and capacity to realise the embedded value in our portfolio through extensions of long term power supply contracts, additional network support agreements and, potentially in due course, peaking power generation from our clean energy projects around Australia.”
