Board Appointment

A.G. BARR p.l.c., which produces and markets some of the UK's leading drink brands, including IRN-BRU, Rubicon, Strathmore and Funkin, announces that Nicholas (Nick) Wharton will join the Board as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 November 2018.

Nick was most recently Chief Financial Officer of Superdry plc until retiring in July 2018 and is currently a non-executive director of Mothercare plc. Nick brings extensive financial and commercial experience to the Board, having held a range of senior roles across FMCG and retail including Dunelm, Halfords, Boots and Cadbury Schweppes. 

Commenting on the appointment John Nicolson, Chairman said:

"We are delighted to be welcoming Nick to our Board.  Nick's breadth of experience, gained across a range of diverse yet complementary sectors, will provide valuable skills and insight to support the continued development of our Board capabilities."

No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R in relation to Nick Wharton's appointment as a non-executive director of the Company.
