ASX ANNOUNCEMENT: FFT Group Appoints Group Head of Extractives and Energy

• Andrew Hames appointed to drive global growth in the mining, oil & gas and renewable energy industries

• Experienced executive with more than 15 years’ experience in the extractives and energy sectors

Future Fibre Technologies Limited (ASX: FFT), a global leader in Risk Management Solutions today announced that former Iqarus executive Andrew Hames has been appointed Group Head of Extractives and Energy.

As Group Head of Extractives and Energy Andrew will be focused on driving the groups sales and marketing efforts in these sectors across both the Technology and Services divisions of the group. These responsibilities include building the customer and partner base, increasing market knowledge and enhancing sector expertise throughout the organisation. In addition, Andrew will be developing shared opportunities where a broader integrated solution encompassing more than one of the group’s products and services would provide additional benefits to customers.

Andrew is a New Zealand national and will be based in Dubai. Andrew joins from Iqarus, a global intelligent and integrated healthcare provider where he was instrumental in the start-up, development and accelerated global growth of Iqarus in his role as Chief Commercial Development Officer.

Andrew previously held senior management roles with G4S Plc, most recently as Director, Global Energy and Mining Solutions where he developed a portfolio of business spread across 84 countries and six continents with over £600 million in revenue. He was also instrumental in leading the start-up of G4S’s energy, mining and construction sector in Africa during 2014, expanding services to over 500 project sites across 24 African countries. Prior to joining G4S, Andrew was Head of Energy, Mining and Infrastructure at International SOS, the world’s leading medical and security services corporation providing tailored healthcare, security and assistance solutions for businesses, governments and NGO’s worldwide.

With over 15 years’ experience in the extractives and energy markets, and with an extensive track record in developing risk management, safety and healthcare solutions for the energy, mining and associated construction sectors, he is ideally placed to embrace the challenges of this new role.

In line with its growth strategy and to capitalise on growing security needs globally, FFT continues to expand its international sales team.
