Peter Willbrandt to become the new Chief Executive Officer of Aurubis

Hamburg, 28 September 2011 - At its meeting today, Aurubis AG's Supervisory
Board unanimously appointed Peter Willbrandt as Dr Bernd Drouven's
successor as Chief Executive Officer effective 1 January 2012. Peter
Willbrandt will continue his current duties as Executive Board member in
charge of Primary Copper Production, so Aurubis' Executive Board will be
reduced from five to four members.
