APPOINTMENT OF PETER MEERS AS A DIRECTOR OF ARCHER

Archer Exploration Limited (ASX code: AXE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter J Meers, as a Director of the Company.

The appointment is effective from today. The Company warmly welcomes Mr Meers to its Board. He is Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Hudson Resources Limited (“Hudson”), Chief Executive Officer of Tiaro Coal Limited and Chairman of Australian Bauxite Limited. These companies are listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

Mr. Meers has broad business experiences across a range of industries including mining and resource exploration, building materials, consumer, commercial and investment banking, securities trading and origination. He is a graduate of Macquarie University holding a bachelor degree in Economics, a Fellow of Australian Bankers Institute and a Member of NSW Minerals Council.

Mr Meers will join Executive Chairman, Mr Greg English (a qualified mining engineer and lawyer), and Directors, Mr Tom Phillips AM, (former CEO of Mitsubishi Australia), Ms Alice McCleary (Chartered Accountant and member of the Takeovers Panel), Mr John Dawkins AO ( former Federal Treasurer) and Mr Gerard Anderson (Managing Director) on the Board of Archer.
