Paul Fegan to join AMP Limited Board

AMP Limited Chairman Peter Mason today announced that Mr Paul Fegan will join the AMP Limited Board as a non-executive Director, effective from 1 August 2009.

Paul Fegan was Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of St George Bank Limited prior to its merger with Westpac Banking Corporation.

Mr Fegan’s 30 years experience in the financial services industry includes roles in the US, UK, Ireland, Hong Kong and Australia.

Mr Mason said Mr Fegan’s wealth management experience will be a valuable addition to the AMP Limited Board.

Mr Fegan’s St George experience included overall responsibility for the retail bank and wealth management division, including asset management, distribution, the Asgard platform, life and general insurance and private bank.

Paul Fegan holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Melbourne. He is a Director of the Bosch Institute of Medical Research.

Mr Paul Fegan

Paul Fegan, aged 48, was St George Bank Chief Executive Officer from November 2007 and Managing Director from February 2008 until its merger with Westpac Banking Corporation in August 2008. He was also a Director of St George’s funds administration subsidiary, Asgard Wealth Solutions.

Mr Fegan joined St George in 2002 as Group Executive Wealth Management and went on to hold a number of senior executive roles. In 2004 he assumed responsibility for wealth management and retail financial services and he was appointed head of the retail bank and wealth management division in 2007.

Previously Mr Fegan was based in the UK as Chief Operating Officer of Yorkshire Bank. He held Director positions in both Yorkshire Bank and Clydesdale Bank and a series of senior appointments in Australia, the US, Hong Kong, the UK and Ireland.

Mr Fegan holds an MBA from the University of Melbourne, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Financial Services Institute of Australia (finsia). He is a Director of the Bosch Medical Research Institute.
