Thomas Schmölling, member of the management board of Allgeier Computer AG, is leaving the company at the end of this year. Thus, Thomas Schmölling assumes the responsibility for the fact that Allgeier wrongly estimated the market for electronic shop solutions. Allgeier had to markedly reduce its profits and sales forecast on 12 October 2000 above all due to the disappointing order situation in the e-Commerce business. Thomas Schmölling will be at the company’s full disposal up to the end of this year in order to ensure a smooth transfer of business transactions. As already announced in the IPO brochure, the company’s controlling will be improved and extended. The supervisory board and the management board have charged an external consulting company with the creation of more efficient controlling systems at short notice, with the aim of increasing the reliability of forecasts and of recognising possible undesirable developments earlier. Allgeier will therefore also reinforce its controlling staff. To regain the shareholders’ confidence Allgeier Computer AG will submit to an audit. A renowned independent auditing company has been charged with preparing the 9-months report and, at the same time, with establishing a critical analysis of the first two quarters.
