DIRECTORATE CHANGE

AIB Group plc ("the Company") announces that Dr Michael Somers, Deputy Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company and Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. (together "the Companies") will resign from the Companies with effect from 31 December 2017 in line with the terms of his appointment.  

Ms Catherine Woods will replace Dr Somers as Deputy Chairman of the Companies with effect from 1 January 2018, while continuing in her roles as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Board Audit Committee.

Richard Pym, Chairman of the Companies, said: "I thank Michael Somers for his service on the Board. His retirement creates a vacancy for Deputy Chairman which will be filled by Catherine Woods. Catherine has been an excellent Senior Independent Director and chair of the Audit Committee and I look forward to working with her in this additional role."
